Very high quality piece, fairly priced, and made in the USA.Installed on a mk7 2015 GTI for bike rack mounting purposes. Install went very well thanks to comprehensive attached instructions and high quality hardware. Took less than an hour start to finish... and now I could do another one in half the time.At least an 8" extension on your ratchet will be helpful. Possibly a wobble-head also. Exhaust nuts are 13mm, hitch mounting bolt nuts are 19mm.One sorta tricky part was the fishwiring of the carrier bolts because the frame rail holes are pretty tight. Might have to peel away a bit of undercoating or do a little persuading with a rubber mallet and your ratchet extension as a punch.The other tricky part was at the end, maneuvering the hitch around the exhaust without scratching either item. Note: I was on my back under the car with the rear end on ramps, so wiggling the exhaust around with one hand while holding up the 20+ pound hitch with the other to get it lined up against the four bolts got a little tiring. On a lift or with two sets of hands this should be easier.Torqued to 90 ft/lbs on my wrench, Curt says 110 which seems a bit much (and I believe VW recommends less.) We'll see if it loosens up or shows any problems from regular use and weather, but I doubt it will.All in all a pretty simple install and a great quality product. Highly recommended, would buy again, and will buy this brand for other cars...
